loads of uncertainty as hurricane weakens and waits to decouple....

weakening category one or perhaps 2 hurricane lane is about 150 miles south of oahu, moving, slower than a person can run , to the north. the uncertainty comes in when it will turn west, before or after it makes landfall on oahu or maui. windds are slowly weaking and torrential rain is still a serious threat.

high level winds are forcing the top of the storm to the northeast, and low level winds are forcing the bottom half of the storm to the west. eventually the storm will seperate into 2 parts moving in opposite directions, killing it.

the question is whether this separating will occur before the storm reaches an island.
