Tallahassees two state universities and its community college lost more than $26 million in construction and academic dollars when Gov. Ron DeSantis cut local projects from the state budget he signed this week.
Among other things, DeSantis zeroed out:
$20 million for the Florida State University College of Business Legacy Hall project.
$650,000 for expansion of Tallahassee Community Colleges nursing program.
$200,000 from a Florida A&M University environmental program that targets youths to balance a $92.2 billion state spending plan.
Its unclear whether the veto will delay completion of the $88 million project to build a new home for FSU's College of Business.
Legacy Hall, originally scheduled to open in the fall of 2021, will anchor the southeast corner of the campus at Gaines Street and Martin Luther King Blvd, about a mile east of Doak Campbell Stadium.

There have been rumors that UF is salivating to pick up the program, which would surprise nobody familiar with what's been going on in Florida higher ed political maneuvering this year.
