I haven’t seen firearms in our local Publix yet. If I do, I’ll certainly let the management know that they will lose a customer if this policy isn’t reversed. I have a hard enough time with law enforcement wearing their belt load of terror.

6. Stop shopping there, if you've not already done so.

Publix isn't going to give any petition the time of day, especially an online one. The only way to send a message is:

Let them know you used to shop there (store, frequency, avg dollars spent);
That as of xx/xx/xx you've stopped, and are now shopping at ______________ because of their policy, and will continue to do so until it changes.

Until they feel it, they'll do nothing. It's the American capitalist way.

7. It is not that easy when they are the closest store

and you're 78. An Aldi is opening not too far away at the end of the month. I will try them and try not get shot before then. If I see a civilian packing heat in the store, I will abandon my cart and leave. Maybe they will get tired of restocking.

I've not been impressed with Aldi, to be honest. I'm hoping that if/when they actually take over one of the Winn Dixie full size stores in my area, the experience will improve.

When I do need to go to Publix, I sit in the lot for a few extra minutes evaluating the place and people going in/coming out. Stay safe my friend.

9. This is the first I've heard about open carry on Pubix....fkn nutz... Why is it necessary to open carry a gun in a

food store?? If something "happens" and a cop responds and sees someone with a gun in his/her hand,
he is gonna shoot THEM!

Open carry became legal in Florida. Businesses can still prohibit it. Publix chose not to.

11. Doing fine.. LIfe is still good. I have decided if I see anyone with open carry in Pubix I'll go straight to the

manager, tell him what I saw and will never be in this store again.. I'll go to Winn Dixie/Walmart/Aldie etc.
Maybe I'll tell customers there is a guy in the store carrying a gun? Be careful!!!
