Democrats plan political counterattack on day of Mike Pence visit in Tallahassee
Local Democrats and Democratic organizations are planning for political counterattacks as Republican Vice President Mike Pence plans to visit Tallahassee International Airport Saturday evening.
The Florida Coordinated Campaign, a Democratic effort, told the Tallahassee Democrat on Friday it will hold a "pop-up" press conference at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Tallahassee Victory Center, 428 W. Tennessee St.
City Commissioners Jeremy Matlow and Curtis Richardson, Gadsden County healthcare provider Zachary Woods and local retiree Dave Jacobson of the workers' union AFSCME will speak at the event, spokeswoman Stephanie Lambert said.
Richardson is running for reelection against challenger Bill Schack for the District 2 seat.
