Florida adds 1,533 new coronavirus cases, 47 new deaths
Hillsborough saw 118 new infections, the most new cases in the Tampa Bay region.
The state of Florida on Monday reported 1,533 new coronavirus cases as well as 47 new deaths.
That brings the state’s total number of infections since March to 736,024. About 16,000 people have died in Florida from the virus, with the weekly death average hovering around 100 people per day for the last month.
The state also reported another 91 hospitalizations from the virus including 32 in Tampa Bay. The region counted 298 new cases and an additional seven deaths Monday.
There has been a slight, steady increase in new cases over several days. Florida’s weekly average in new cases is now 2,593 new cases per day, a number that has gone up six days in a row.
