Of the state's 9,351 hospitalizations, more than a third are in Miami-Dade and neighboring Broward counties, the AHCA said.
"It's really a crisis moment at (Miami's Jackson Memorial Hospital)," Martha Baker, the president of a union representing health care professionals, told CNN affiliate WFOR. "We're just, I say dancing on the head of a pin, hoping we can keep dancing."
In the article, I don't know where they get the 127% number. I am using the official Miami-Dade info.

Be safe all in FL, pls.!! Ignore your governor, who doesn't seem to care one whit about your health. I hope he comes down w/ the CV, and see just how crippling this deadly disease truly is, to the citizens of his own state. Pathetic.

(54,770 posts)regular hospital bed. Qualified nurses can work in regular rooms, but its not ideal. Equipment, like ventilators, can be moved easily (assuming they are available close by). Thats why the hospitals are currently handling 507 patients who would normally be in their 398 designated ICU beds.
If it goes on too long, or too many patients are admitted requiring intensive care, then you have real problems. That could happen here, but it appears they are good for awhile.
