'It breaks my heart to share the news that my longtime friend and co-worker Wendy Rieger is in hospice care. This picture was taken in October 2020 at the beautiful Rappahannock County home that Wendy designed and built. Our interview that day was about Wendy’s upcoming open heart surgery. She recovered but would soon learn of an even bigger challenge: a brain tumor. I don’t think I’ve ever known anyone more alive than Wendy. She’s surrounded by love and support right now and I hope she can see beautiful blue skies ahead.'

Kick in to the DU tip jar?

This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.

As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.

Tell me more...
