DC-area airports on ground stop due to weather

A Flash Flood Watch is in effect in the region until 2 a.m. Monday.

Baltimore/Washington International Airport is on a ground stop until 3 p.m. Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport previous listed a ground stop but that's since been replaced by a ground delay -- with delays up to 122 minutes. Dulles International Airport also listed a departure delay with delays up to 75 minutes as of this writing.

A Flash Flood Watch is in effect in the region until 2 a.m. Monday. Several areas were under a Flash Flood Warning. Click here to see the latest information.

Ground stops are issued to limit the amount of air traffic in situations like this when the weather is bad. Planes at other airports around the country that are bound for that airport will remain on the ground wherever they are to prevent an air traffic bottleneck.
