Colorado Springs adds ballot return tracking for April 1 City Council election

Colorado Springs is asking voters to show up for April's City Council election and is offering ways for residents to track their ballot and the results.

On Friday the city will be mailing out around 330,000 ballots to Colorado Springs voters. Each ballot will include one question, asking voters in each of the city's six districts to select their local member on the Colorado Springs City Council.

This year's city election will debut a way for voters to track when their ballot is processed in the same way they can for statewide elections. City Clerk Sarah Johnson said Wednesday morning that voters can enter their name and personal information on the city's 'Ballot Search Status' page to make sure their ballot is mailed out Friday. They can also confirm that their vote was received and processed once their ballot is returned.

In addition to the ballot tracker, Colorado Springs will use the same online turnout map that debuted during the 2023 city elections. Beginning on March 17, when the first round of ballot tabulation happens, the city will update the map to show the overall number of votes cast in each district.
