Shasta election leads in 3 key races hold steady after update

The Shasta County races for elections chief and supervisor District 1 and District 5 saw little change from where they stood after the release of new vote totals on Sunday, June 7.

Redding Councilwoman Erin Resner, who is challenging Supervisor Kevin Crye maintained her lead for the District 1 seat, while Anderson Councilman Mike Gallagher, who is challenging Supervisor and Board Chair Chris Kelstrom, also was ahead in the District 5 race.

Challenger Joanna Francescut continued to outdistance incumbent Clint Curtis in the county clerk and registrar of voters race, the vote count showed.

The results from the Shasta County Elections Office showed workers processed 6,985 ballots since their previous report on June 6. Officials estimated the number of ballots that would be processed in their next update at 4,669.

Which is about as big a 'disconnect' as is possible to envision (or script?). Ignorance is alive and well! And on full display ...

As a handy cue card for those not familiar - Prop B is the nifty little 'voting/elections measure' that enshrines a number of things that directly contravene U.S and California election law. (voter ID, hand counting, in person/same day) And are the brain child and pet project of precisely the same supervisors and election officials - that voters are currently showing the door ...

(and the 'nuttery' involved with things like Prop B - vaccine deniers, etc. - is always 'sufficient unto the day' ... )

But there have been various proposals to divide or split off portions of the state ... Since way, way back.
And of course - it's all 100% spurious nonsense - that virtually nobody with an iota ....

I think one of the more recent crack brained schemes - has something to do with combining areas with one (and possibly 2?) other states. (Idaho and Oregon?) Which of course just multiplies the inevitable (and already near insurmountable) hurdles and roadblocks ...

Did I already say something about looney-tunes .. ?

A friend from Art School moved there and I slowly learned that there are many low income, super right wing freaks up there after I was told that my hand made Xmas card from 2016 featuring gRump as The Grinch was disrespectful to "our dear leader". After that I researched that area and it all made sense to me. Wow! Needless to say I haven't communicated with her since. She lives in Weed and so do a ton of Mormons.
