Both of them are fascinating portrayals of anti-heroes.
I have a friend who doesn't understand my obsession with these series. She is, however, a fan of Shakespeare. I've asked her, how is Breaking Bad worse than Macbeth? Hmm, well, I guess I'd actually have to watch it.
Vince Gilligan is a genius.

Gus Fring might be interesting, but I'd like to see a Mike Ehrmantrout series.

Based on watching Better Call Saul, my wife and I agree that we'd happily watch a series about Lalo Salamanca.

That trailer was awesome. Can't wait for this next installment. Looks like some things are going to start sizzling.

because my wife was a business travel this week so I held off until she got home.

Here's my breakdown of what I understood:

Show opens with a flashback to Kim as a little girl. She was seemingly in trouble for stealing something from a business but it turns out it was a ruse by her mother (played by Kim -- or Rhea Seahorn -- by the way) to rip off the businessman. Young Kim didn't seem impressed afterwards in the car. To me, this sort of reinforces that Kim, by nature, is a good-hearted, well-intentioned individual (also evidenced by her eagerness to participate in the new charitable law organization), but she can get pulled into the criminal element by influences like her mom and Jimmy McGill/Saul Goodman.

We get a glimpse into how pitiful Howard's home life/relationship with his wife is.

Lalo Salamanca continues his research mission in Germany. He tracks down one of Werner's men who was digging and designing the underground meth lab for Gustavo Fring.

Jimmy and Kim's latest plot against Howard goes awry. Now, I will admit that I'm also a bit lost here. What exactly they're planning to do isn't clear, I don't think. But it had something to do with having an imposter pose as that mustachioed man that Jimmy spotted in the liquor store. I don't know who that man is or what his role is. But maybe that will become obvious in the next episode, which airs on Monday night. That's the 7th episode this season.

Then we get a break, unfortunately. The final six episodes are scheduled to run from July 11th to August 15th.

Hope that helps!
