'Round The Farm Sunday

Today it's all about the barn.
Last week was time for Laurie to dig trenches for electrical and water lines. It happened that our neighbor's son Austin is an accomplished bulldozer/backhoe operator. In two days he got Laurie off to a very good start.

Our daughter's Boxer Pepper's here. She took one look at Austin's trench and jumped it.

Once Pepper came back to earth, she and Shadow trotted around.

Yesterday Laurie rented a Flat Plate Compactor to flatten the muddy floor surface.

Pepper supervised.

Following her hard work —

The surface beneath tractor/compactor looks just like the previous photo.

You are going to have a most excellent barn. Especially with your helper bees.

Those are great pictures, a lot of work going on there. The dogs are having a good time, too. What happy luck, a neighbor who knows how to operate heavy construction equipment. Pepper tries out the trench, then Shadow gets Pepper to focus on watching out that humans were safe, and all was well with the rest of the place.

Thank you for posting the cool pictures.

Thanks!

Austin digging, Pepper jumping, Laurie flattening!

Amazing work by all! I never knew there was a thing you could rent to flatten dirt.
