Swift crab spider (Mecaphesa celer)

Using a jelly jar, I collected this tiny spider (the body's about 1/8" long) from one of my flowerbeds this morning. I released the spider to its web after taking the photos.

9. I don't know why I fixate on the eyes, but these are ferociously alien

I am amazed at what you can capture. Things I could never imagine seeing otherwise.

I'm sometimes amazed at the details captured when I upload the shots to my laptop and view them on a 15-inch screen. More often, I'm disappointed when the minute details such as the eyes are out of focus. I've found these tiny creatures a challenge to photograph.
