Related: About this forumInfo on the Madrona Marsh Preserve and Nature Center
Yesterday, I went on a photo walk with Paul's Photo at the Nature Center. We had been scheduled to walk into the Marsh, but it was very foggy and no flowers were blooming.
There were plenty of flowers at the Nature Center! My thread from yesterday is full of them.
But today, I want to post some info about the Marsh itself. The City of Torrance is in charge of keeping the Marsh safe for all to enjoy.
Here's the link:

It's an extensive description of the Marsh: photos, groups that work there, hours they're open, and much more.
Here's a few photos that I took, several years ago, when I went by myself into the Marsh:
I expect to get much better photos the next time I visit!

(153,357 posts)I get the photo as I find it--especially when it's likely to move away rather suddenly.
I felt lucky to have caught this one!
And you made me smile too . . .

(36,473 posts)Sorry I didnt get the chance to comment on your previous Marsh photos, Peggy. They were so beautiful and uplifting.
I fear that with Trumpism taking over this country we will see fewer and fewer nature preserves like this.
And, I love the bunny!

I know full well that there are days when I don't have time and I feel as though I've neglected my friend. Leaving a rec tells me you were there and liked what you saw. That is important.
I hope that we can stop that monster from doing that sort of damage to our fragile wilderness spaces. We MUST.
I love the bunny too!

(128 posts)we have a park here in Panama City, Panama, which contains the only rainforest inside a world capitol. Its 532 acres and has toucans, macaws, monkeys, and orchids.
I tried going a while back, but it turns out two legs are a must, but one day!!!
And there will be photos.
Sí!!!

The Marsh typically opens at 10 a.m. daily (I think). Not sure about Sundays.
Hope you can get there. Even the grounds around the Nature Center, which is across the street, are impressive.
