American Exceptionalism - Ca. 1877

Big Hole National Battlefield Montana - On the morning of August 9, 1877, troops of the U.S. Army's 7th Infantry Regiment surprised the Nez Perce killing 60 to 90 Nez Perce men, women, and children - many sleeping in the early morning raid. The Nez Perce were fleeing to Canada to escape the US Army troops.
