It was The Beatles for me. Until then i was a kid taking classical piano lessons and getting interested in jazz piano.

Suddenly, the music on WLS didn't seem silly.

It was the Beatles that opened my eyes (and ears), but hey, the Stones were cool too ...

I identify more with the Beatles, but The Stones were a force ....

Del Shannon and Ricky Nelson, my older sister's music, when the Beatles hit the scene and within a couple years there was an explosion of really cool music as I reached my teens. The 60s were quite the time for electric music and I was riding the crest of the wave as a young teen. Before that I was studying classical voice and it was absolutely sacrilege to mix the two and that included folk and anything not made for the symphony. I rebelled and found jazz and bluegrass along the way. Now I'm older and I will sing anything that is done well structurally and sounds good. And trying to learn a stringed instrument...
