My dad was into that stuff, like very into it. It got the audience moving and swaying but still listening, it wasn't audience participation like today. That song is just a slower way of life, it would put me to sleep.

Hitler and cons hated the Roaring 1920s Jazz Age modern music and The Charleston dance. Also new motion pictures, automobiles and modern art of the Expressionists and Cubists following WWI (1914-1918). So it had to be good.

Each generation seems to bring in new styles in art, fashion and dance which is a good thing I think, growth and creativity.
