1. "Remastered"?

Friday

This version sounds so feeble and tinny to me, compared to earlier mixes. Drums mixed way down, guitars and voices so dry.

I keep hearing remastered Beatles tunes that sound so antiseptic compared to earlier versions, let alone the original vinyl mixes. Turning drums way down sounds particularly feeble to my ears. One of the things that distinguished early Beatles records from most all their contemporaries was how the drums were so prominent. They were the BEATles after all. But recently I heard a "remastered" version of "A Hard Day's Night" where you could hardly hear the drums at all.

Why people insist on fucking up everything is beyond me. Egoism, money? Whatever it is, I wish they'd give it a break.

That's my rant for the day.
