By the time I was growing up during the British Invasion, the cut-out bin was dedicated to groups like The Kingston Trio.
They've grown on me since.

... and he was into folk music and lived in an apartment we finished off for him in our attic, - I know a lot of sea chantys, too.

He was of the age where he was jr hi/HS when the folk thing was big.
He performed several of their tunes when he was still playing.
He went to see them many times.
Corresponded with Bob Shane & John Stewart by mail. Got invited backstage when they performed more than a few times.
He even traded a Gibson acoustic to get the Martin Bob Shane model! (He died in April, so I've got that guitar now.)
His favorite song by them was this one:
