...that because one guy grew up in the South, one in California & one in England, they'd sit down before rehearsing harmonies and agree ahead of time how they were going to pronounce the words.
Whoever wrote the song & was going to sing lead, would sing it, the other 2 guys heard how he pronounced it, and agreed on pronunciation.
That's how serious they were about harmonies
