The late singer- songwriter Jimmy Buffett will be honored with a celebration set for Aug. 30 through Sept. 2 in Key West, the place where he developed the signature “tropical rock” style and laid-back persona that helped make him a world-renowned musical icon.

🐠 "Just a Few Friends Key West” 🍋commemorates the island city’s favorite son with events including a Second Line memorial walking parade, concerts by Buffett’s musical friends and tribute bands, beach parties, walking and biking tours of the entertainer’s favorite spots, sailing excursions and other activities that recall the Key West lifestyle he chronicled in his music.

1. Thank You My Friend

We were very fortunate to see him several times in New Orleans. Awesome performer. My bosses wife worked at his restaurants gift shop and she would let us know when he was going to make a surprise appearance. Saw him at midnight during jazzfest. Think We have every one of his CDs. And Jimmy greets you as you hit the last step going into our basement. The 2011 New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival Poster. Makes m happy every time I see it.

5. Lucky you, I know it was a blast in NOLA, terrific city. We just missed Jimmy

when he made a surprise visit to a cute, small resort on Nevis. We flew there the next day from St. Kitts and were bummed to learn he had just played at our hotel tiki bar the night before. Drats! But it was a great visit anyway, including a day trip to enjoy Anguilla's heavenly beaches. Jimmy was such a great entertainer and gift to all! Thanks for replying.

2. would love to be there for that....

we were at the Hollywood Bowl in April for the Keep the Party Going concert. Very cool....and very healing. Saw Mac MacAnally a few weeks ago, and he did a lot of JB tunes. Great night...
