2. Good Version

I played one of those doubleneck Ovations Page is using.
They're heavy! Hard to keep the still if playing on the 6 string neck. Easier on the 12 string neck.
I wouldn't want to play it standing up. Would wear me out!
Sounds really good here, though.
It looks a lot like my mandolin, which is an Ovation, as well.

if you can explain...

I only saw Paige playing the 12 string neck here - then why use a double neck in this case? Did he switch to 6 string neck and I missed it, or what? Sorry - been late to the game in trying to self teach guitar, and always curious about the shit I know nothing about.

thx

5. A Fine Question

The only thing I can think of is that they played more songs with that instrument and he used the 6 string neck then.
I wouldn't use that heavy, awkward 2 neck guitar to use only one of them.
It's actually hard to reach that 6 string neck if it's worn where the 12 string neck is not up high, but Page wore his guitar lower than I do, so he might have been used to that.
In your learnings, if you have questions, feel free to let me know.
Here's an example of my guitar playing.

I enjoyed your version of All Along the Watchtower! I like how you put your own spin on it, and the propulsive baseline. Thanks for posting - I was not surprised at your talent, as I have listened to a few of your posted recordings previously - at which time, then, I was surprised at such great musical talent in our midst!

I admit that the spin on that song was to find a way to demonstrate how fast I can play!
I still play piano, guitar or both every single day. Mostly for my own enjoyment, but also because I think it best to continuously try to get even better & more interesting.
I've been working arpeggios a lot for the past several months, especially on acoustic.
Found a really cool pattern to play diminished arpeggios, just last week.

so seriously, I am an absolute beginner with guitar, but have some limited piano background. However, I can appreciate your excitement about the pattern you found. I was trying to memorize scales, and found it tedious to say the least - and daunting (- how would anyone understand this damn fretboard!?!? I'm screwn), until I found a pattern system for scales that clicked with me - and that was like a eureka moment. Now I just gotta practice! LOL.
TMI from me. Rock on!

...if you noticed on that song, when I sing the line "Wildcat did growl", there's is the sound of a big cat growling.
I did that on the guitar. I didn't use a keyboard sample of a wildcat!
Channeled my inner Adrian Belew or Reeves Gabrels.
