Huge Henley fan. For my college Ecology class I created a power point of beautiful waterways, rivers streams, creeks, lakes that devolved into toxic waste dumps from industry and poor agriculture practices.
While the students watch the horrific effects of unregulated dumping, I played Henley’s “Goodbye to a River”. Printed lyrics for the all.
Think I created a few Henley fans over the years.
From a few generations way past the Eagles.

This song nearly always makes me cry because it came out right after my brother died, and parts of it are so significant.

I got to see Henley do it in concert when he was doing the album tour.

different than the radio version that Henley released. Certainly a memorable song. Thank you for sharing your thoughts Bayard.
