Smokey Robinson

There are no words to express the disappointment, dismay and disgust I feel right now. I have loved Smokey Robinson for years; he's my favorite singer. I know "innocent until proven guilty" but I tend to believe women (I also know this is a civil matter and not a criminal one so he would be found liable instead of guilty). My heart goes out to those women.

I also wonder if we'll even hear what happens or if he'll just settle quietly and it disappears from the news. It's not like that has never happened before.

I'm not sure where this post should be. It doesn't seem to belong in General Discussion or the Lounge. Let me know if it's in the wrong place.

If it is false, why would he settle, so thinking it might be true

Why are they coming out with this now, as a four some. I guess it could be true, but how will they prove it. They were Hispanic and he might have taken advantage of their vulnerabilities.

In the 27-page lawsuit they detail several incidents dating back to 2006 and allege they were pressured into sex.

All four women, who are of Hispanic descent, said they had not come forward until now because they feared losing their livelihood, familial reprisal or embarrassment. Some were concerned the allegations could affect their immigration status.

They are seeking at least $50m in damages and a jury trial.
