I was very shocked by Quaid and his recent, "Trump's my asshole" boast. I did a very shallow dive on Dennis Quaid and this is what I'm figuring: he says some craziness about everything failing, kind of like the end of the Roman Empire. Anyhoo, I believe he and a small cadre of uber rich have been investing in these secure, go to havens where they'll all be self-sufficient and don't have to rely on the US govt. The rest of the country be damned. That's where the Obese Orange One comes in: tax cuts for these greedy slobs so they can make their little heaven on Earth paradise's secure and keep the poors away. Hire a few hateful mercenaries to patrol the perimeters. Maybe they have some religious cult leaders who are able to get these rich clowns organized. Would make a great Net Flix movie. That's my take for what it's worth. Cheers

(4,076 posts)I like his acting, but I do not know much about him personally. I have read that he is a follower of religion. I have been aware that he is a supporter of 45. In my post, I was not referring to him as having anti-ageing aspirations. I was referring to some mega-wealthy people who seek to do battle with the "sword of time."

(15,376 posts)The estimate is 30m. At this point you need at least 100m, and really 1b to qualify as mega wealthy.

(1,991 posts)Quaid is now married to a woman from Dallas; their twins, born at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles, were the subject of a lawsuit for some medical complication during their birth.

I used to really like him in some movies, do not remember them however.

(4,076 posts)A great line in the climatic scene near the end of the movie.
MuseRider
(34,654 posts)but it was really emotional. I think I saw it fairly recently but now I tend to fall asleep at night so I do not remember it all. That line, just thinking about it, almost makes me cry.

(4,076 posts)He was holding the smoking shotgun which had just vanquished the antagonist. Until that moment, the viewer was not sure if the cross-era message had reached its destination. A powerful climatic scene.
