Finally focusing on sorting

This whole year has been busy. I closed my vintage booth in March, and untagged things when I had time. I'm not planning on getting back into selling soon, but I want the stuff sorted and organized.
I'm donating some things, and I hope I can get that stuff out tomorrow. Not much, but it'll clear space. The county is having a collection of electronics on July 24th, and I have stuff to get rid of. I much prefer the eras when something was made and could last several lifetimes.
My little break is over. Back to the pit

Sometimes I can pick up an object and smile with a little memory....but more often than not, I'm railing against their/my/our consumerism!

4. I ended up with my family's stuff

I have got most of that sent along. We bought very little new, except electronics, because someone was fascinated by new technology :/ My husband and I liked going to sales and the last few years before he got sick, we were buying lots, as in boxes and boxes, to get one thing in one of the boxes. A lot of the stuff I don't want is going to be donated. I had to sort the stuff from the booth because my kids brought stuff for me to try to sell. I want them to either take it back, or add it to the donation pile.

The way things are going, archeologists in the far future are going to marvel at the sheer amount of stuff if they excavate my basement!

...so we have to take everything out of them. I decided it would be easier to sort and throw when putting things back. The cabinets are about 75% emptied.

5. I got my living room painted in March

packed 15 boxes of stuff from 3 displays cases, so the painters could move them without a disaster. After the painting was done, I put it back. My local daughter helped me pack, and I talked her into taking a few things. The cupboards upstairs are full of some pretty good things, and I don't have to worry about sorting those. Just every other place in the house.

You'll enjoy having an updated kitchen. One of these days, I'll have an update on mine.

…changing the layout, the countertop material, and upgrading from builder grade linoleum on the floor to nice 12x12 tile. The pattern of the linoleum was pretty, but had a major flaw that I didn’t know enough to know about when I picked it. It was quite textured, and turned out to be a total pain in the ass to clean - the dirty water would settle in to the little depressions that created the texturing unless you scrubbed it on your hands and knees and dried it as you went along. I used to call it my “goddamned, son-of-a-bitching, mother-******* kitchen floor.”

This time round, we are just changing the colors of the cabinets and island.
