3. My dog looks a lot like that one

My car is similar but my elderly dog rides on the back seat on a dog hammock. I have to help her into the car by lifting her back legs. She gets onto the seat by herself and I rehook that side of the hammock to my headrest.
Getting out, she sometimes loses balance on her back feet so I try to park next to grass when I take her to a walking trail.
She does enjoy her walks.

6. We had...

... two Shepherds; the first was pure white, and his name was Saint. The second was a long-haired Shepherd named Athena. She was the best dog I've ever known. She lived to be 14, which is pretty good for a 100-pound dog.
Then our elder son bought us a Shi Tzu. Making the transition from a German Shepherd guy to a Shi Tzu guy was traumatic, but I managed.
Now we have a rescue from Texas named Honey, due to her color. She's 3/4 Great Pyrenees and 1/4 Red Bone Coon Hound. When she was rescued she weighed 35 pounds, now she's 80! We've had her a year, marked this past weekend, and she's turning out to be a wonderful dog. She doesn't like car rides, which is unusual, but I suspect that's due to some trauma regarding car rides before we adopted her. I think it was due to her being abandoned in a strange city with her litter of pups.
Anyway, she's got her forever home now, and lovin' it.

9. We had an elderly German shepherd too

When she couldn't jump into the car anymore, my husband made a collapsible stepping stool that let her get into the back seat, where we had a hammock for her. We had to put her to sleep during the height of Covid because she got to the point that she couldn't even sit up or lay down without falling over on her side. Not sure if it was DM or a spinal issue. She was 15, which is really old for a shepherd. This video brought back some fond memories of her.
