Why didn't I think of this before? For years I've been freezing pesto in ice cube trays. Although it does the job the

frozen cubes can be a pain to remove from the tray. This morning I came across some paper muffin cups in a drawer and voila! So, I spooned the pesto into the paper cups, put them in a muffin tin and then the freezer. No more fighting to get the frozen pesto portions out of the ice cube trays!

When one has a bumper crop of basil, it is a way to keep summer goodness well into winter.

Therefore you freeze it, and unfreeze a portion when making pasta.

Hi there. I recently purchased a few silicon ice cube trays. They seem to be made just for freezing things like pesto. They are not too pricey, and it's easy to get the frozen portions out.
