I had to put on my old prescription glasses to find the new pair. And Im not sure about this cat we rescued as he just fell into the water bowl.

New rescue cat? Maternal distemper can cause clumsiness. The falling in the water dish is something I have seen. (The drinking posture can be hard to maintain for affected animals.) I hope your cat is ok!
