I dont know where I should be asking this.
A new Democrat to our county attended a meeting with our Governor candidate, Deb Haaland (former Secretary of the Interior).
The new woman was angry because a prayer was given at the beginning of the program. She was adamant that no prayers should be said.
Ive only been to Democratic Party meetings in New Mexico and never thought about questioning the prayer that begins every state and county Democratic.
Is that standard?

McHenry County is the only one of the "collar" counties surrounding Chicago that votes red.

(3,505 posts)meetings in MA, VT, NH and ME over the last 40 years and I don't recall a prayer at any of them. And I would have been quite surprised if there had been.
No political arguments in the Lounge. Your question might be better asked in the GD Forum.
