Egg - mug - microwave ------------- UPDATE, first time trying, below

Since I've been doing the pan/oil/fry thing and also putting off doing it because of the clean-up hassle, discovering this internet method was happy time. It isn't the article I saw, which had Comments like: Not-news, been-doing-this-for-years, omelet-not-fried, microwave-DRIED-out and many other wet-blankets. Maybe new or useful to somebody else.

*** ON EDIT: Oh, recently saw a YouTube with (not-new?) info about Pyrex: That Corning developed it; Corning sold it and the whole process; "pyrex" (all lower caps) is the U.S. branch, made in America while "PYREX" (upper caps) is the European branch made over there; both have the same owner, but made from different somethings, the European one being Corning original. I actually dumped the video to check my supposedly pyrex/PYREX item and it turned out to be "anchor" (lower caps).

Scrambled Eggs in a Mug
For delicious scrambled eggs, microwave one egg in a cup with a bit of milk and pepper for each person in your family. It's quick and easy, and there will be no messy pan to clean.

1. That's how I do it, but it's not dried out.

Maybe because I do it 30-60 seconds at a time and moosh it up each time I take it out of the Mikey. That makes them scrambled for me. Add ketchup and hot sauce.

Things I use - bacon bits or frozen sausages. Micro the frozens first, then again cut-up in the eggs.

I have recently started using a microwave safe paper bowl so there is zero cleanup.

I brush it with a little butter, and add an egg scrambled with a little water, s&p. I cook it for 30 seconds on high, then add some shredded cheese, and cook another 30 seconds. Makes a lovely filling for a toasted English muffin. Cooking times vary. I cook everything on high because I don't know how to change the setting! lol

7. The original item I saw had no lubricant in the mug, but looks like it's O.K. - am no cooker, so

am nobody to give advice. Seems like the cooking intervals might be 30 secs, so adding things maybe in the second interval? Since my addition will be frozen sausage link, I'll do that one separately for a minute, then cutting into 3? chunks and adding it at the start of the egg for the whole time.

Just in case.

I'm thinking mushrooms and swiss cheese.

8. I have a plastic thingy for cooking eggs in a microwave

It has silicone handles, is called the "IncrediEgg", and does whole eggs and egg whites beautifully but scrambled are inedible. I'll have to try it with milk, which I don't use when I make scrambled in a skillet. I mostly use the IncrediEgg to melt butter for popcorn because normally melting butter in like a custard dish requires the presence of another custard dish with water or there is arcing. It's an old microwave, a 1987 Sunbeam "Express Meals", 700 watts. Still works so I don't need one of those fancy push-button models.

that have only used a few times, my pattern of accepting good or healthy ideas but not following through.

13. I got a really small frying pan, just big enough for one egg and it's non-stick.

But I'm so lazy I end up dumping cereal in a bowl instead. It's probably better because I get whole grain cereals and mix them. Yummy! and all that fiber.

10. I just saw a video that showed how to "bake" boiled eggs--

Put eggs in a muffin tin, bake in oven for 20 minutes.

I don't know, but I might try it next time I'm going to make egg salad.

12. Wow, tried it for the first time! - surprisingly O.K., will tweak, practice will improve!

* Did not use spray in the thermal mug, no milk nothing extra.

* 2 small eggs only filled about half inch deep in two cups mug.

* first 30 seconds, not much cooked, then a minute and about 3/4 of mug filled up in big fluff mass!

* So, yes, it was a bit dry but future tweaking will improve things - maybe the milk and 30 sec intervals.

But the main advantage this first time, non-stick in the mug, barely any clean up!
