Those with channels are denied posting anything that mentions GOP, for example, so they use other terms.

"Dirt nap" is a common one too.

Mind you, this is all from what I've heard others say.

Strange times we live in.

...to keep content from being demonitized. It's driving us further into the doublespeak "1984" so presciently warned about.

YouTube channels mention that certain words will lead to censorship or demonetization. Apparently unaliving gets through the censors but suicide and murder don't.

Reddit I have heard that using the word, or forms of the word, "kill", "murder", "porn" can get a post flagged and maybe a user banned. Maybe it does on some platforms, but usually when I see people saying this they are the sort of poster who decries "woke" language. So some people use "unalive" or "corn".

It never seems to be completely clear who is doing the censoring, moderators, the platforms administrators, or the gOvErNmEnT. In Florida, the porn site Redgifs is unavailable without using a vpn. But that is because the site has chosen to fight the governor's mandate to require personal identification for all users. And the main censorship by the state here is forbidding the use of climate change related language in government documents.

and especially "assassinate" will get you a 30-day time-out (or longer, depending on your record) on Fascistbøk, as will a lot of other unspecified words. The Fascistbøk Copbots are notoriously sensitive to the point of absurdity. Hell, I know one person who got a week off for using "unalive."

They censor words like the names "Dick" and "Willie" and mild insults like "boob".
The prevailing belief is that it's done by AI.

This was when Dick Cheney was W's VP (and acting president for foreign alffairs, i.e. the Middle East wars). So, when his name was mentioned in the comments, it came out something like "%$&! Cheney."

get penalized by the algorithms.

Thus users employ euphemisms like unalive, self-delete, essay (sexual assault) and PDF file.
