Who said he wanted his grandkids to know "America isn't Disneyland and 5 star resorts, it's national parks and other things."

On Loop shopping trips with my mom we would sometimes have lunch
at the Greyhound depot that used to be at Clark and Lake Streets. After
lunch we would go down to the lower level and watch the busses arrive
and depart. Great video, thanks for posting.

Torn down for "progress".

I was lucky enough to disembark from a Greyhound there before it was gone.

who'd gone to California, and was heading to Texas. We rented a car to visit the
Navajo, and Hopi Nations. Then I made my way to San Francisco & LA, to Albuquerque, NM, then back to NYC. All by bus.

Next summer '80; was Greyhound to South Dakato, Denver where my cousin took me up unto the Rock Mts on a motorcycle(!), Hopi Nation, Albuquerque, and home.

If I was extra lucky, the seat next to me would be empty, and I could stretch out over night to sleep a bunch of hours.
Other than an occasional small glitch they were fantastic trips.

TY, Trailways & Greyhound! Memories still bright. Some slides. Also kept a journal w sketches, too, for each trip.

every two or three weeks. We walked to a bus stop and it would stop and pick us up. My grandmother lived in a hamlet of around 300 people.
