a mad magazine. instantly bought it. it is a special collectors edition.
mad went out of publishing an new material as they said they had run out. ohm my has it been interisting.

(108,924 posts)Barnes & Noble used to sell a lot of magazines but I've not been in one in quite some time. The grocery stores have really reduced their "offerings..."

(20,603 posts)Sigh... not sure I've been in a B&N since before Covid. I used to go a lot! The biggest one in Manhattan is still just north of Union Sq Park. I would also go to the Green Market at the west & northern side of the park, then stop in at B&N. Good times!
Looked at Crafts, Art, Architecture, Interior Design, Science, Science Fiction, Gardening for beutiful photos, Children's Books for the illustrations. The magazine rack for the same, plus rock mags.
I should go this summer!

ETA: I read MAD from mid 60's - up to ? 81+ish. Then I picked one up in the ?early 90's.
As an artist I was really interested to see the new visual styles they presented.
