April Star Showers Bring Magic to the Night Sky (YT Vid)

This 13min video previews of some of the beauty and wonder to be seen in April's nighttime sky. For those of us who do our stargazing in the morning, April will be an especially good month with much to be seen in the pre-dawn hours.

Well, it might be, save that here on the breaks of the Edward's Plateau moist air from el Golfo de México moves in during the night cooling below its dewpoint so low clouds and ground fog are not uncommon this time of year.

A highlight, besides the Lyrid Shower of Falling Stars (peaking around Earth Day on the 22nd), will be the thumbnail moon, Venus, Saturn and Mercury in the predawn sky of April 25th. Jupiter and Mars can be seen in the early evening sky by those who do not go to bed with the sun.

There's even a nice discussion of the Lunar Phases and the nightly motion of the moon. Full moon will be on the 12th, new moon two weeks later on the 27th.

Who knows what wonders you may see...
