While law enforcement has been for many years dominated overwhelmingly by dogs, today the Albany Police Department is announcing a unique and innovative new program for cats. Purrtect and Serve (TM) will allow these highly-trained animals the chance to serve our community in the feline of duty.
After an exhaustive recruitment process that involved rigorous tests of agility, stealth, and a steely ability to stay focused around laser pointers and cans of tuna, these highly trained cats are ready to tackle crime with their particular set of skills. We’d like you to help us welcome to the first of these dedicated officers, FE-9 Whiskers, to the APD family.
FE-9 Whiskers comes to APD from SafeHaven. Looking for more than just a life of judgmental staring and emotional manipulation through cuddles, FE-9 Whiskers was ready to join the ranks of claw enforcement, with a special interest in furensics and purrsuits.
When off-shift, FE-9 Whiskers enjoys curling up in a sunny spot for a nap and snacks.
