In hindsight, after having seen them all, "Full Metal Jacket." Thanks for an interesting question!

I'd be lying if I didn't have a fondness years ago for RS--the tech nerds of that time usually could point you to whatever adaptor or kit you might need for your purpose...

Planes, Trains and Automobiles (John Candy and Steve Martin).

Some people really enjoyed The Princess Bride from that year too.

... which were the best of times and the worst of times. The AIDS crisis still overshadowed everything. My wife and I both, in some ways, clinging to one another in that storm.

The only movie I've seen on that list is Robocop. We saw it a few years later at my brother's house when he was showing off his new big screen television and 4-Head Video Cassette Recorder. His big screen television was small by today's standards, and the picture blury...

My wife hated that movie. That's one of the things I love about her. Dark dramas are an ordinary day in her professional life. The movies she likes are pure The Princess Bride escapism. We did see that on the big screen.

I'd previously had a girlfriend who thought Eraserhead was a great date movie.
