1. I've gotten my best referrals from Nextdoor.

I'm not crazy about that site but it's pretty good for local news & referrals.

3. I started by going to my local LGBTQ organization

And looking at their Lavender Listing's of businesses. I figured the odds of a RW company or homophobes were lower.
But some stuff I want/need were not in their listings.

4. I got in a heated email war a LONG time ago with Angie's list because...

they advertised on Rush Limbaugh's radio show.

We went back and forth with nasty emails for a few days.

I'm surprised they engaged with me for so long over that battle.

5. When I had the kitchen window replaced, I called a guy from the neighborhood.

He then said as he was starting to measure the window that the Russians were right to invade Ukraine. 🤯
I stopped him and told him to get out, did he not notice my name was Ukrainian? It is very ethnic.
I had to do a cleansing ritual to get the MAGA taint out of my house.
