I have no problem with spiders, my working theory is: if you got 'em you need them. However, my wife feels quite different, so I thin the herd every one in a while relocate them on the plants in on the deck. I feed the birds and I believe a lot of them get picked off by the house wrens. i rationalize it, Circle of Life and all of that.

.... and build nests above the gas fired water heater up by the wood beams - where they know it is toasty warm for the winter.

3. Awww, collect the centipede up in a cup or small box or something and take him outside. They are the good guys.

As to the other bugs coming inside, I take comfort in that my spiders will have something to eat. (Only a harmless few wolf spiders that eat the others; we have a pact. They stay in the basement, don't reproduce, and we can coexist)...
