(7,309 posts)On toasted white bread, a nice even slather of Duke's mayo, crisp iceberg lettuce and a thick slice of vine ripe heirloom tomato. And a light sprinkle of black pepper.

(7,309 posts)The sour dough flavor would compete with the bacony deliciousness! And I do love sour dough.

(29,260 posts)I couldnt. No way. Too many ways. Im having my favorite today, which is now my favorite because thats what Im having today, and I definitely want to have it my way.
Anyway
Were having BLTs today. Thick sliced pepper bacon -no augmentations like maple or smoke flavor that could clash with fresh tomatoes and lettuce picked fresh. The bread is toasted multigrain sandwich rounds, which is just the right amount of bread for us. I make a knock-off horsey sauce, reminiscent of that served in a certain fast food empire that will not be named presently, but adjusted according to the dish, and itll be light on the horseradish today.
There are other dishes I may have once in a blue moon, but Im not expecting to have anyone soon. One is oysters wrapped in bacon. Then theres Anything Wrapped In Bacon - another favorite. I like bacon crumbled on a doughnut -a savory, smoky contrast to the confection as a conveyance.

The store is at the end of my street about a 2 minute walk away. On bacon smoking days the smell wafts over the entire neighborhood. Try working in the garden with lettuce and tomatoes and onions with the delicious aroma of bacon being smoked accompanying your futile battle with annoying weeds.

(17,786 posts)Neither love it or hate it, but will usually pass it by if I see it offered somewhere. I buy it for the family but almost never eat it myself.
I'm not a vegetarian. I just don't crave it. I'm more a Carbocrazed maniac than a baconator.
It's a personality defect, I know.
