I'm addicted to reality TV. Should I worry?

I've always read nonfiction so maybe it isn't so odd but after Colbert and Stewart at the Emmys I wonder if I would admit say it out loud. My favorite 5 minutes of comedy ever:

Currently I'm hooked on Gold Rush. I know. Trash but I can't stop myself.

What should I try next?

“I feel like… you took a shot at us there,” she said. “And maybe you felt like it was necessary, I don’t know. But if you don’t think that our hearts are big enough… what exactly are you trying to say?”

“That is offensive, and it is not true…”
“…please, keep your judgment someplace where you know you can fact-check it, because you can’t see my heart.”

I don't watch game show type reality shows . . . except I did watch Ink Master. Loved it.

So I guess you "elites" don't like Gold Rush.

(I just looked at a list of the best reality TV shows and understand how you feel. Kardashians, Real Housewives? Gag me.)

Sorry, I just can't stomach watching how they glorify the destruction of pristine environments. It's a travesty.

for their work. It's also the time that most all of the good scripted dramas went to cable - TNT, USA, TBS, others that I can't remember now. If you find yourself seeking television shows from post 2005 - 2015, it's due to the great writers who scripted those shows. Part of the Union demands today is for writers to get paid for the Reality shows that are scripted and the writers aren't getting paid for them.

So, Reality TV is Union Busting. It's why I have never watched Reality except for the 1st season of Last Comic Standing, then I talked to a producer from LA who moved back home after the 2005 Union Strike and boy, did she have a lot to say about it all.
