remorse?
Let me explain: I'm leaving for a trip to Europe, but have been sidelined by some very bad osteoarthritic pain...up in the night, exhausted every day from pain and advanced age. I had the appt. on my calendar.
I know it's not an excuse but the pain blotted out my brain function. Earlier I was on the phone with my pharmacy about getting more pain meds from my doc before I leave. I am now dreading this trip.
I've rescheduled with him. He's been my hairdresser for several years. His time is money. I am so ashamed of myself for forgetting.
Since he is a recovering alcoholic I can't bring him a bottle of wine. In the past I have brought him a poem and a reproduction of a couple of Renaissance cherubs. I was going to bring him a Rembrandt angel reproduction this time. I don't bake or I'd bring cookies. Maybe flowers in a little vase for his salon?

(68,434 posts)In other words, make sure he hasn't lost any money from your missing the appointment. That, and your apology (and efforts not to do it again) are all that is needed.
It happens. I've done it. Don't beat yourself up. And I'm sorry you're in so much pain.
