Toho's Godzilla: Minus One Unleashes First Teaser
Toho has released the first promotional image and a teaser for the upcoming Godzilla film.
The company announced the film and its release date on Twitter via an account for the film, which posted a promotional poster featuring the film's logo along with a brief, 30-second teaser trailer. Art for the film, titled Godzilla: Minus One, depicts the titular monster with a classic design embedded within a large letter "G," with the subtitle "-1.0" below it.
Along with the logo reveal, the account also shared a short teaser for the film, which shows Godzilla appearing amid a mass of destruction as people run in terror. The teaser ends with a reveal of the film's release date, shown as Nov. 3, though the company clarified that it will not release in North America until Dec. 1.
Toho has only revealed minor details about the plot, though they confirmed that it would be set in postwar Japan and that the title teases the story, stating that Godzilla will reduce the country from zero to even lower. The film is also set to release just a few months from the franchise's 70th anniversary, which Toho is celebrating with a Blu-ray box set containing all 36 films produced under the company.
