Friday Night Vodka Buzz. Ask me anything.

Two shots to get the party started. Now a Cadillac Margarita. A classic Margarita with a splash of Cointreau.

Three weeks, and no word from the new clinic. I understand their HR department is a chaotic mess. But I’m starting to consider other options.

I love you all…

They no longer say 'Walk this way' to patients because they're tired of hearing, 'If I could walk THAT way'.

Wolf

Happy Canada Day.

But, at the risk of offending aficionados, cheddar cheese, diced onions, and savory sauce.

I could out-eat the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles when it comes to pizza.

Hand-tossed crust, pepperoni, black olives, and extra seasonings, especially oregano.

Yum!

It was called the 'Smokehouse' and it was Pepperoni (or Salami, we always picked the Pep), Linguica (and Round Table's linguica is KILLER) pizza, and then they put on fresh sliced tomatoes and scallions and a bbq sauce drizzle late in the process, and cook that on for the last couple minutes.

So freaking good.

My lady just reminded me of Round Table's Maui Zowie, which is also really freaking good.

involved. Talking the 1970's here.

Basically I freaking grew up on that place, so did my younger brothers. When I go back to the Bay on trips, we ALWAYS get a pie from there, or sometimes go eat there. Family tradition.

Both the ones near where they live (Alamo and Dublin stores), the franchisees are excellent. They charge a lot (like $35 for an extra-large King Arthur's Supreme, which is only 18" iirc), but the pizza and topping quality is top-notch.

I miss the stores in Walnut Creek and Danville, they both closed long ago, but we ate at those a LOT growing up.

I've been to some RT stores that frankly weren't great.

But in the East Bay, they have to maintain quality to compete, and they definitely have.

I just loved that huge, barn-like open dining area. The dark wood of the long trestle tables, the powdery smell of hand-tossed crust, the glorious expectation of hot, cheesy goodness.

“Catch-22”.

I grew up during the Cold War, and everything Russian was bad and evil.

Then I saw this movie on TV (I was about ten or so), and the Russians were sympathetic! Lost, confused, frightened. It was interesting to watch.

That was the thing about that movie and it was pretty funny.

I was a kid living in New England when that came out, could have been on a number of sites and look like the same place but I think they were on Nantucket. It was recognizable to us and the part where nobody understood them was what was odd to us, New England is populated with almost every ethnic group there is or was, accents weren't a problem. Most of us, if we weren't isolated, heard several foreign languages a day.

But it was a movie that was fun so that part was easily overlooked.

Can't disagree with those choices. Catch-22, brilliant novel and brilliant movie, doesn't happen very often.

And "The Russians are Coming!" Repeating that phrase in the title let you know this would be a slightly different take on the 60's cold war.

Imagine that: Top down, the open road, and Ms. Aretha hammering out “Think.” (Come on; be honest; “Freeway Of Love” is too tame for some serious driving.)
