Tulip Festival has started in Ottawa. These are from the middle of the cemetery

1. In the Okanagan, the deer this year appear to have eaten most of the tulips

planted by homeowners. They do love them but it is getting worse. I always had tulips and never had the deer eat them, it seems this year they have a craving.

2. That is so too bad. Ottawa gets its park tulip bulbs from the Netherlands

in thanks for Canadian troops freeing them at the end of WWII. We don't have deer in the parks in the city so we are safe. Yes animals do sometimes do swarming behaviour. Every 50 years to black bears get a bug and swim from island to island in Georgian Bay. May have to do with blueberries. My sister has a place there.

4. Looks pretty! We had a heat spike in early mid April I think our tulips are past...

but I'll be at our Bronx NY Botanical Garden Sunday.

7. We used to visit Washington Park when I was a little kid in Albany.

And that's what I remember - seemed to me like they had acres of tulips - and it looks like they still do.
