I flew from: Chicago to Athens to Mumbai to Bangkok to Tokyo to Chicago in on trip.
I only flew east and ended up where I started. The sun always rose in the direction I was headed, and set in the direction where I had been.
There is no flat earth hypothesis that accounts for that.
This isn't theoretical. I actually did a Magellan. (Just the opposite direction.)
