⬜⬜🟨🟨⬜ GLIBS (??? I just wanted to test for those particular letters and it was accepted as a word)
🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 BRAID (... and left only one possibility!)
WordleBot: "GLIBS? Impressive vocabulary! This was an excellent choice glibs is exactly what I wouldve picked in this situation." LOL, I had no idea it WAS a word.
NYT average: 3.6
WordleBot: 4 (SLATE CHURN BRAVO BRAID)

(33,643 posts)Per his algorithms I'd bet that looked like an awful choice.
Pretty sure.
William Seger
(11,944 posts)... and seeing that those specific letters would very likely point right to the answer. I just arranged them into what looked like it might be a word and was genuinely surprised when it was accepted.

(33,643 posts)I'm saying WB algorithm isn't smart enough to figure out WHY it was a good choice.
To Wordlebot I think it looked like a bad choice, and it was being a smartass.
My guess, anyway
William Seger
(11,944 posts)... which it can do exactly since it knows all the target words and all the allowed words. If this word was in its allowed list, then given what I already had learned, I don't think any other word would have done that faster.
Edit: I just remembered that when WordleBot is stepping through your solution, for each guess, it shows what it would have guessed given your current state of knowledge. I went back and looked, and GLIBS was at the top of its list.

(33,643 posts)"Impressive Vocabulary" comment.
I don't know for sure either way, and I think it was a great choice, but I'm not quite sure it wasn't being a smart-aleck, or at least self-deprecating in the sense that it doesn't know that word, but sees that it was a good choice, and then fronts like "oh, I'd TOTALLY have picked that!"
William Seger
(11,944 posts)... which it uses whenever words tie on their elimination score. (The reason I think that is because that's the advice it gives us when we need to decide between two words, because that maximizes the probability that it's actually a target word and not just an allowed word.)
Hugh_Lebowski
(33,643 posts)Okay, well then that seems to show that I'm incorrect.
Wordlebot is smarter than I gave it credit for it seems.
