Once I was in Skagway, Alaska and I saw about 10 or 15 eagles hanging out in a tree waiting fro salmon to go by.

Never have forgotten that image.

This post made me cry. As you probably know, I'm Ojibwe and eagles mean much to us. One of my most prized possessions is the eagle feather my tribe presented to me when I graduated from college. Eagles, like wolves, are very spiritual beings to us.

Thanks again for your post, my friend!

Once upon a time I helped with a rescue of a bald eagle. It was a solemn event. The rescue passed a couple days later.

I've never seen an adult eagle being held by a human like that. Note how he says he felt like she was his child. That is the instinct I believe drives everything adult humans do, to transform the world into a safer place for the innocent, whether that be children, or pets, the infirm, the oppressed, or wildlife. People often ignore that instinct and then complain there seems to be no meaning in their lives.
