Photo from the 1957 World Series
When I became of age to realize there was such a sport as baseball I began to root for the Braves. I had no concept of regional loyalty to a team, only that these guys were the hot team. The Champs. So I wanted to root for them. I mean, after all, who wants to root for a loser?
Hank Aaron, Eddie Mathews, Warren Spahn ... they became my heroes.
As I grew older, my interest in sport waned but I never forgot the Braves. Every year as the World Series would roll around I would check to see if the Braves were playing and in 1995 I watched them win their 3rd title.
RIP Hammerin' Hank

Bonds will forever have an asterik after his name for steroid use. And visit Milwaukee if you have a chance, lots of good people and places!

when I was a young lass. I was a kid when the Braves came to Milwaukee. Several times a summer Dad would load us all in the car and we'd drive to County Stadium for an afternoon game, returning home sunburned and (usually) happy. We all had our favorite players but everyone loved Henry Aaron when he got there. He was amazing.
