As for his violent crackpots, I have a tough time believing they would start a second civil war.

President Biden is the CIC of the military. There is no way these maga terrorists can win anything significant, and in fact, the idea that they would have to overcome the National Guard units alone will make them realize that dying in the field for their unhinged criminal is not worth it.

2. I certainly agree with you that TFG needs to be detained as promised

Judge Chutkan certainly knew that when she issued the protective order - but we'll see what she's decided on Friday.

And you're also right about the National Guard. Unlike TFG on January 6th, President Biden wouldn't hesitate to call them if necessary. i certainly hope that it never comes to that and shutting TFG up in his efforts to incite his deluded fans is what needs to happen ASAP.

5. If you are thinking of civil war in conventional terms,

then I would agree with you.

But a guerilla war is possible. Even I, with no military experience, can think of strategic targets and methods of attack that could be carried out with impunity. How do you fight back against people that you can't see or identify? How do you protect infrastructure and individuals when you don't know which is the next target?

There are members of the National Guard, active regular military, police, and former active military who support Trump and the idea of civil war on his behalf. Think of hundreds (or thousands) of Timothy McVeigh characters looking forward to the fight. Just like before J6, people are mistaken if they refer to all MAGAs as couch potatoes. Even after J6, there are RW extremists who are committed enough to their "cause" to keep on fighting.

We cannot allow ourselves to be intimidated into backing down. But we'd be fools not to be prepared for escalating violence. I'm sure that our national security agencies are aware.

Crimes, violent or not, are for them to investigate and arrest the criminals (domestic terrorists or not).

Any new crime against We The People in the name of the orange terrorist will also perhaps add new charges to their dear leader...
